Hot wheels customizing tip. I found these jewelry related metal stems at Hobby Lobby at $2.99 USD for 72 pieces. They are capped at one end and make marvelous axles when trimmed to size and crimped properly. One caveat is that they are thinner than actual axles and can bend if one is not careful but it’s cheaper than off the shelf solutions. These will do in a pinch for customizing.
