Mazda Monday - Japanese pride in Le Mans

Still the last Japanese entry to win Le Mans, the Mazda 787B will forever and always be a legend of motorsport.

For Mazda Monday, I’d like to show my (rather playworn) Tomica replica of the winning car driven by Johnny Herbert and Bertrand Gachot in the 1991 Le Mans race. Built for the Tomica mainline series in 1991 and coming in a scale of 1:64, this is a cheap way to own a piece of a Japanese legend. Knowing that Hot Wheels will be releasing their own version of the 787B (albeit not in this striking shade of Renown orange and green) makes me a very happy man!

Despite the slightly peeled-off stickers and paint chips, my Tomica 787B still holds up well. This will pair nicely with the upcoming HW 787B...
