[Haul] Continuing the Tradition: HW Shelby GT350R

The Ford Mustang had almost always been part of the Hotwheels universe since 1968, and many iterations of the ponycar had been miniaturized by Mattel. Mustang guys who are also HW collectors would probably notice that once a new Mustang debuts, it will almost always be in the HW mainline.

This new Shelby GT350R continues that tradition. And it does not disappoint. As the real Shelby debuted in blue with black/red stripes, so did the HW version. The painted 10sp wheels mimick the carbon-fiber ones of the real car. Oh, if the HW version only had the flat-plane V8!

Other features include: tampos on the roof, the spoiler, and the rear panel, which has the GT350 snake on the center, HW logo on its right, and the taillights.

The only gripe is that the tampos are misaligned. Normally we would bewail the lack of front detailing, but given the tampoing limits of production (I think limited to only two sides per car), I’ll give it a pass.

Fellow Mustang fans, rejoice!
