First off let me thank Sn210 for granting me authorship permission way back in December of last year. Unfortunately, because life, I’m just getting around to me first post now.
Second, let me say how impressed I am with the tight knit community you all have built here. I can only hope to fit in and contribute.
About me: I’m a father of two living in Brooklyn, NY. I work as an assistant manager in a large family owned hardware store in mid-town Manhattan.
The Beginning: So let’s rewind to June of 2016 when my son had just completed 7th grade and had recently turned 13, extra stress on the teen. He decided it was time for another makeover of his bedroom. While packing up Yugi-Oh and Pokemon cards (more than I ever want to see in my life again), Nerf Guns, Thomas trains, etc to be sent to storage I came across a drawer of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. While sifting through them I became nostalgic not just for his younger years but for my own childhood as well. I remember having seen an article about customizers so I decided to hold onto what my son had accumulated and try my hand at some customizing.
Down the rabbit hole: One day I decided I would hit some stores to see what was currently out with the intention off maybe picking up some things for wheels, blown engines, pipes, etc. to use for customs. Of course things didn’t turn out to be that simple. I immediately found and loved new models for Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Then I discovered M2 and Greenlight. As I went from store to store it hit: the addiction to The Hunt. I’ve been busy so I have a ton of stuff to share with you all and some stuff to trade. (Still need to get that first custom started!) anyway as I sad earlier I can only hope to fit in and contribute.
