Hello and good morning everybody! This morning I bring you a pretty snazy casting from Matchbox of an ElCamino. Since this blog happened a lot of people I know have realized how much I like die cast cars and are always thinking of me when they see them. This car was given to me by a co-worker who's husband was cleaning out his garage and came across this car. It was in the package from 1998 but the card was a little worse for wear so I freed it! Check out the pics below.
This casting is pretty cool and wears the orange well. Details are pretty dang good as well but falls a bit short on paint in that it is lacking headlight or taillight detail.
My favorite detail of this car would have been extremely easy to leave out while in the design process as it is an area that would normally be flat on a regular truck. Toward the front of the beds on ElCaminos they had a break in the metal where they had a cover over the drop in the floor. This is because this car shares the floor metal with regular Chevelles and would normally have a back seat in this location. Like I said it is a very small but awesome detail. The pics below show the same break on the real cars.
All in all I think this is a really cool casting of a really cool car. I do not know if I will customize it or not so let me know what you would do.
Thanks for looking!
