Last night I got a call that there were some underground drags going on and quickly gathered up a bunch of cars to head to the spot. A friend had made a very cool track using a bunch of wood that was about 20' long that gave both light and heavy cars some fantastic competition. Here is the layout of the track:
Very basic lanes but smooth and did the trick!

After a bunch of testing the group of us each chose 3 cars to run a bracket to eventually find the fastest car. Here was some of the competition:

Now, onto the bracket. The van and 65 Mustang are missing but you will see them on round two.
All of these cars were fast so competition was tough. The light cars accelerated the quickest but the heavy cars such as the Comet gained tons of ground after half-track. We flipped for lane choice and raced best 2 out of 3 for each pair to keep it fair. Some cars favored the left lane where some favored right. Here is how round one played out:
My biggest surprise was seeing the Camaro lose to the 458 as it was really fast.
Round 2:
We switched the GTO and Rocket so Nathan wouldn't be racing two of his cars together.
After seeing them in testing it was no surprise that the Talladega and the Rocket were quick winners but we were blown away by how fast the 65 Mustang was! Competition was heated!
Into the final 4 we go!
In the closest races we had, the Rocket and Talladega had to go to super slow-mo frame by frame on two races to decide the winner. It was intense!!!! My Talladega pulled through to the final along with the 65 Mustang underdog!! The Mustang only just beat the Comet as the heavier Comet was gaining ground rapidly. If the track were a foot longer the results would be different!
So here we are at the final two. The Talladega versus the 65 Mustang. Two raced went down with the Talladega taking the W in both with the Mustang only just behind. It was great racing!

We will most definitely be doing this again but we plan to re-do the track. I may buy actual Hot Wheels orange track to go even faster. Stay tuned!
