This particular custom Skyline took me about 2 years to actually finish and I am glad I did. This was the car I used to demonstrate some basic custom techniques on a few How-To custom articles I put together. Once it was stripped it just sat...and sat.....and sat tucked away in my “to-custom” pile until last week when I said “NO MORE” and decided to finish it.
With this casting being so phenomenal from the start I wanted to highlight all the details that I could while keeping with the cars theme which is a racecar. My idea was to make it look like it could have been a 60s car that was daily driven by the owner and tracked on the weekends! I wanted it to look racecar...but not TOO racecar. Anyway, here are the highlights of what I did:
Light blue metallic paint
Red painted headlight covers because racecar
Semi-gloss black fender flares
Flat aluminum painted window trim
Black interior
Matchbox wheels for MOAR VINTAGE!!
Black painted hood because that’s kinda my thing!
Black spoiler and lip

I also decided to DLM my Japan Historics Skyline to show off the differences. I think I may do some custom details such as the black accents on it!
I’m very pleased with how this car turned out and hope to get back on a customs kick as I have plenty of projects that need to be finished.
