Okay, so when I first ordered this and I was super pumped to get my first AutoArt Car! Then I talked to the seller a few times and the package was delayed and delayed and it finally came 4 weeks after I ordered. It was kind of poorly packaged and had flaws not pictured and it was filthy. I set it aside until I was back from vacation, and got around to cleaning and buffing it today.
This was the result! So Happy!
The interior looked like it had been the home to several 1:18 scale longhair cats, It was a dusty mess. I took it apart, and used water and a toothbrush to scrub the dust out without damaging the texture or leaving residue. It worked very well! Although, I noticed a few areas I could have concentrated on after it dried. I also cleaned the engine bay and added a few silver cap details (didn’t need much though).
The windscreen was the worst part. There were heavy scratches from the wipers being played with. I used some Meguires Deep Shine rubbing compound to get it back to what it should be. Other than missing a mirror glass and the antenna, it seems showroom fresh now!
I absolutely love the small details and intricacies of the model. It’s heavy and feels of great quality. I’m very glad I have this, thanks again androo. I want to see how the paint looks on a few maistos I have looks after the Meguires cutting compound I used on this.
