Some time ago I discovered this diecast on ebay. I decided to buy the model for a few bucks, because a vehicle with UPS paint was missing in my collection.
The Ford Taurus was used at the 400 mile race on September 23rd 2001 in Dover. It was the first race that took place after the 9/11 attacks. The security measures were then tightened sharply and so no backpacks or cool bags were allowed to be brought to the site. In addition, the audience had to pass a strict security check. Even the air traffic around the track area was partially discontinued.
NASCAR Champion Dale Jarrett started from pole position with this vehicle and finished fourth. Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove into victory lane.
The model in 1/24 scale was produced by Action Racing Collectibles and can convince with numerous details on the whole line.
