Le Mans (Part 3) Porsche GT1

The 66th edition of the 24 Hours of LeMans (June 6-7, 1998) was fully packed with racing cars, which every motorsports-enthusiast love. These include Mercedes CLK LM, Toyota GT One and McLaren F1 GTR.

The Porsche 911 GT1 shown here is a thoroughbred racing car, of which only for homologation purposes a road version was made. Under the very flat and long carbon fiber body is the watercooled 3.2L Turbo Flat-6 engine,which mobilizes about 550 hp.

In keeping with the 50th anniversary of the Porsche company, drivers Laurent Aïello, Allan McNish and Stéphane Ortelli won the race in front of the second placed GT1.

This 1/43 model was manufactured by Spark in the usual almost perfect quality and leaves nothing to be desired.
