The fourth installment of the Live and Let Die-Cast Customs Review! Here we go!

Customs activity ramped up a little bit again on LaLDie-Cast this week, as I (finally) finished two of the customs I did for fellow LaLDie-Hards and sent them back to their respective owners, Sn210, Type-S getting in on the customs game, and, of course, Carnage717's awesome work.

Flames and other outrageous liveries on otherwise perfectly great castings are a common scourge around here, but thankfully Sn210, Type-S came to the rescue! I agree with him completely that the livery was not doing wonders for this XJ220, and I am very glad that he decided to get it a carwash (with acetone). DEFINITELY much improved indeed!

He did offer a very cautionary tale though: Stay away from the windshield, because acetone will do a number on it.

Sn210, Type-S also VASTLY improved the Cadillac Sixteen Concept through a simple respray. His respray experience showed how trial and error can lead to some amazing results. I definitely know this from first-hand experience as well! As long as the end result is as great as this though, I'll take it.

It definitely looks slick in black, even with the funky wheels.

Carnage717 did some more amazing work this week, showing off two new additions to his repertoire.

First up is Christine, the '58 Plymouth Fury. What a beast.

My favorite thing about Carnage717's work is his attention to detail, and it definitely shows up in a major way on Christine. The wheels match perfectly and all badges and chrome is done up.

His second project for the week was this 8 Crate that he modified. In his own words:

This started out as an 8 Crate Vehicle for those that don't know what that is it's basically a 1956 Ford Parklane Wagon with a huge engine in the back and a glass top. When I originally got this car the back of the wagon was crushed down quite a bit and plastic window was broken in the back. So I figured why now just cut the back part of the wagon off and make it a Drag Car.

He added the headers from a Hot Wheels shark car to complete the engine bay to epic proportions.

His work definitely keeps improving and I can't wait to see what's up for next week.

As I mentioned in the intro, I finally finished two customs I did for other LaLDie-Hards, a Datsun 240ZX for Frosted The Boxy Car Guy, and a Bad Mudder Baja truck for Dingers Ghost, Champion Jockey. I think both turned out pretty nicely, and I'm glad both guys took much better pics of them than I ever would have been able to.

Now I leave you with a discussion Jeff Simmons posted yesterday, which maybe isn't a customs post, but certainly can be!

Take matters into your own hands! You think a casting needs a respray? Then go out and do it! This is one form of vigilante justice I do support. And, as ever, if you have any questions about customs techniques, ideas, inspiration, or if you have tips, leave them in the comments below!

See you next week and don't let ugly tampos stop you from enjoying a great casting!
