Hey gang, thanks for tuning in to another wonderful episode of the LaLD Customs Review!
First off, a GIANT shoutout to Mycarneverruns87, who got his HW/Maisto Gasser mashup posted in the Lamley Group's weekly "As is the Custom" feature! Well deserved for sure!
As for our customs from last week, let's start with Klaus "Tampos Beware" Schmoll and his righteous bottle of acetone, bravely going to battle against rogue tampos everywhere. Klaus, we salute you and appreciate your hard work to right the wrongs of the diecast world! This week he freed a WRX, Miata, and R32 Skyline of the bonds of bad graphics. Definitey a great improvement.
I think we all got our smiles back.
Klaus also tackled the tampo crisis in another way, by respraying the car itself, with the interesting side effect of a barely visible graphic. It's actually a pretty cool look!
Sn210's Restomod Banshee turned out all kinds of awesome, from the beautiful paint finish to the much deserved wheel swap. And though the glass is now opaque, it still looks awesome. So much of customizing is trial and error, and I think the result is still bang-on. Let me know if the Pinesol method works on the glass next time!
Just look at that shine!!!
This week's Excellence in Youth award goes to Baby Frosted and his 57 Chevy!
For your five year-old self that is a mighty fine job of staying within the lines, and I'll take your word for it that it's carbon fibre! Pretending is part of playing with toys. Simplify and add lightness, my (formerly) young friend!
Lastly, edu-petrolhead brought up some excellent questions regarding custom decals. I think most of them were answered in the comments, and if you need further help, I know both Carnage717 and myself have had pretty good results with custom decals, most notably Carnage717 on his Red Bull Kamaz Dakar truck, and myself on the BMW M1 DTM.
Keep the customs coming! Keep the questions coming! We love 'em all!
I just realized that this is the first week that neither myself nor Carnage717 had any customs to show. We must right that next week.
