Another week, another Live and Let Die-Cast Customs Review! And this week I dedicate this column to learning.
Doing custom models is incredibly fun, sometimes frustrating, usually involves trial and error, but always rewarding. From annoying metal bases to experimenting with new techniques, our readers have seen it all.
Sn210 went through the frustrating part after mistakenly painting while drunk on his Cobra R, resulting in a having to start over with the paint and also the powerdome. It came out great in the end though. I'm super impressed and feeling inspired to start body modding more!
Just for good measure, here are some more pics.
In the learning experience corner we have OkCars-Great Value, who is learning by doing another Mustang, this time a '67 Fast Back. What a great casting. Metal bases do suck, but hopefully with some tips left in the comments he should be able to finish it with no problems.
One tip I can offer is that a pin is great at scraping paint out of the little body lines such as the light housing and door lines. It'll come right out.
Huzer is so far having a great time customizing his pair of Focus STs, made that much easier by Greenlight's easy access base design. Hurray for screws! I can't wait to see the final outcome. That yellow one will look awesome with the body details.
Finally, this week's Innovation Award goes to mycarneverruns87 for his excellent use of materials. Who knew paperclips would make great roll cages? Definitely keeping that one in my idea box. This pair of 'Rados looks awesome.
Also, #Orloved!
Sorry buddy, couldn't resist!
That's it for this week's review! Keep on customizing people! Just remember, as Sn210 found out, don't drink and customize, kids!
