As I'm sure everyone did, I enjoyed Sn210's QotD immensely yesterday. It brought up some surprises for me for sure. And today, after going to my local old Hot Wheels spot, I think I have found a bit of a grey area.
For Hot Wheels' 40th anniversary, they held the Designer Challenge, asking 7 manufacturers to design a concept car that could be turned into a Hot Wheels car, incorporating both Hot Wheels characteristics as well as each brand's specific identity. So basically instead of real cars that we thought were only Hot Wheels fantasy cars, here are 7 manufacturer designed concepts that are only Hot Wheels cars.
I picked these two up for $1.50 each, no idea if that is a good deal, but I just saw the co-molded wheels and thought "DONOR!!!" Despite that, I am definitely willing to trade them, but otherwise they will end up as donors.
