My heart is a space occupied by many things. But the compartment allocated to small cars has a rotating collection of Cars That Stole My Heart.
You know them when you see them. From first rumors on Lamley, to first photos on Lamley (that is one lucky dude...), to finally seeing it on the pegs. Recent examples include the BMW 1M Coupe, BMW M4, and Aston DB5. But those are ancient history for now. My new crush is a Jaaaaaaaaag. (My next one might also be a Jag but we will see once the Matchbox F-type hits stores.)
It’s by no means perfect. I would probably prefer it without a wing, it’s missing rear tampos, and this particular one doesn’t have perfect tampos on the front either. But enough with the flaws. Let’s focus on its beauty.
Not since the green DB5 has there been a better green. Look at the shine, the sheen, the glimmer. The wheels are perfect in style and color. The “loop chin” is, for once, done right. And the car that it is based off of is a master piece that this little $1 toy has done proud.
I love it and this is a car that I will pick up regardless of how many I have at home. I have not been able to leave any 1Ms on pegs, and will not leave any of these beauties behind either.
Subsequent ones will get wing deletes, recolors in Ecurie Ecosse blue, red, silver, white, and black, and full detail jobs, but this one, the first one, will stay just like this. Bad tampos and all.
