I just had to do one. It won’t be purple like diecast photography’s, and I haven’t decided what color it will be instead, but it will have an opening hood to show off that easter egg of a 6.2L 707HP V8.

As this will be my first attempt at opening bodyparts, I’m still trying to figure out the best way to go about fabricating hinges. I have an idea in my head that you might be able to make out in these technical drawings terrible sketches, but please let me know if I’m on a completely wrong path and you have a much better genius idea.

So basically I’m thinking of cutting a tiny piece of the same tube I use for axles and gluing it to the inside of the body, right under the bottom of the windshield. Inside will go little pins bent 90 degrees horizonal and then 90 degrees vertical so one end rotates inside the tube, and the other end is glued onto the bottom of the hood, (hopefully) allowing for a nice, smooth rotation up and down. Does this make sense at all?

And this is what she’ll sound like. In my head, at least.

Thanks in advance!
