Just like we had a Teutonic Tuesday custom, so we have a Ferrari Friday custom. Both silver, as it happens. Told you I was in a silver phase...
I don’t usually take work in progress pictures, but at least with this one I kind of captured the different states, so let’s walk through them!
The base color is obviously silver, but to get a lovely smooth and shiny black roof I wanted to make sure to use some spray enamel, so off to the taping booth!
Came out pretty nicely, thanks to Tamiya masking tape. That stuff is magic.
Next, badges and lights. All hand painted, because the partnership of me and my printer lack skillz...
Interior is next. I went for a minimalist approach. Black seats with red inlay, with a red shiftknob (in my mind it’s an open gate shifter, of course), customary red Ferrari buttons on the steeringwheel and yellow dials. I accidentally also made a face in the center console of the “can’t unsee” variety.
And now that it’s all put together, let’s take some pretty shots, shall we?
Special guest appearance!
No. 112 then got a bit distracted and started wandering around the lightbox...
Wrangled him for one more shot!
And a final farewell shot to round it off. Obligatory dat azz tho...
