C&C&Kday

Unlike Cars-and-Cameras, I woke up at 6:30 this Saturday morning. Not only was it Kday, but also fine for my six year old son’s first Katie’s Cars & Coffee experience.

We got to the car show at 7:30, at which point I introduced my son to the glories of the E-type, Hellcat, Lamborghini Aventador SV, a ridiculous number of Ferrari 308s, and even a 1911 Stanley Steamer.

All of these photos, by the way, are taken by him, except for the one with him in it, of course.

After our tour, we headed over to Kmart, where the usual couple collectors were already waiting. Rami was the only kid there... No problem though, with 12 available cases for 8 people. Both Rami and I got to open a case, and, as you can see, he got a bit grab-happy, taking everything he even remotely liked. No supers though, unlike the lady next to us, who managed to find the only super of the batch. She was missing the Polizia “treasure hunt” Fiat 500, which I offered to trade her for the super. (Not true of course, that would be horrible. I just gave it to her, as we had one in each of our cases.)

Rami got to open another case even, but nothing in there worth getting, except another of the gold Grease Rod, which he wants to paint silver (attaboy, catching that customizing bug!).

We came away with 28 cars in total, and had ourselves a little DLM party this evening! It was a great day, even without finding a super Super Bird.
