I grew very frustrated and impatient when I saw LaLDers posting Porsche 356A Outlaws while I kept not finding any, so in my impatience I traded for two of them (big ups to Vdubyajohn and Samanosuke for indulging me!).
Yesterday I went to Target during lunch for something completely unrelated (large yellow manila envelopes, if you must know), and had to stop by the small car section, obviously. Well, as luck would have it, I spotted a snowy Ford Fiesta ST on the pegs. I snagged it up quick (love that casting!) and realized that this must mean a new case was up! So digging around, I found a Ford GT, some Real Riders Supervans and BMW 2002s that Target was apparently hoarding and are a great source for Minilites, and a single lonely PORSCHE 356A OUTLAW!!!
That casting does not disappoint. It’s cute, little, brutish, lovely, well done, fabulous, etc. all at the same time.
However, knowing that I have two more on the way, I had no qualms whatsoever about tearing it open as soon as I got home in the evening and put the kids to bed. Tried some different wheels and settled on these slightly modified MBX dish wheels, added some detailing, removed some tampos, replaced the red interior with a brown one, and here we are! Magnus Walker turns Rod Emory. Just need to find some fender mirrors and add the chrome side window trim and doorhandles. Jobjoris is to thank for my obsession with yellow headlights, by the way. They just look so right!
I already can’t wait to make a bare ZAMAC one when I get the other two in the mail! And I hope I find a couple more because it’s for sure now up there with my faves of this year.
