[Custom] Porsche 356 Outlaw #2

When I found out How Wheels was going to release a Porsche 356 Outlaw, I immediately assumed they were referring to the Emory Outlaw 356s. Rod Emory makes some of the most gorgeous 356s on the planet, so I could totally see why Hot Wheels would use them as an example.

So here is my second attempt at “rectifying” the decision by HW to go with Magnus Walker (also amazing Porsche guy, but, as far as I know, much more specialized in 911s) over Rod Emory.

This one got a full respray in sparkling graphite, giving me the opportunity to sand down that ugly mold line that runs across the hood. I then added the usual details of head- and tail lights, as well as hood straps and door handles. Last exterior detail is the set of shoes it now rides on after the slightest of lowering: real rider minilites, sprayed in graphite to match the body color.

On the inside I used my favorite saddle brown leather with some aluminum trim, and added the traditional beige bakelite steering wheel.

After I posted this car to IG last night, Rod Emory actually commented, and this car will soon be on its way to his shop in exchange for some shirts! I proposed a straight up trade, one of his 356s for my 356 but oddly he didn’t go for that... But I’m just glad he liked my little 1:64 hommage!

It definitely won’t be the last Outlaw I work on, so if anyone has any extras they would like to trade to me, just let me know! My next one will probably be more of a “stock” 356.
