Teutonic Tuesday: A Rare Target Matchbox Success Story

My phone failed to take a picture of it, but the rear license plate says “YES I’M FAST.” Porsche drivers, man. I’m telling you.

I think we’ve all recently been a bit disappointed in Target, noticing their virtual elimination of peg space for Matchbox singles. On the flip side that was probably the result of Johnny Lightning’s return, plus the new presence of Autoworld and M2 cars. But despite this, I had a rare Matchbox hawl there today.

Lamley posted a beautiful darkish copper red Porsche 996 Turbo on either their Instagram or main site (I can’t remember which), mentioning that it came from a new Matchbox Exotics 5-pack. I’ve been looking for it ever since, but never expected to find it so soon! Another plus is that the other cars are for the most part pretty cool as well. The Lotus has some lovely paint, using a similar flat/gloss combination that they used on the BOW 1M Coupe, and the split ten-spokes look pretty darn nice in grey. The Ford GT is very nice, and will form a fitting complement to the yellow GT40. I don’t care for the Shelby or the C6 as much, so they are up for trade if anyone is interested.
