On good friend TFritch’s urging, I stopped by Riteaid this morning on the way to work. And now I have two new friends on my desk, a Porsche 930 Turbo in 1:43ish scale to match the 1:64 Johnny Lightning that was already there, and a 1:24 Aston Vanquish in this glorious blue.
There was also a white Porsche 997 but I opted for the Vanquish because look at it! And it has steerable wheels. It was only $10 but has a surprising amount of detail. Check out the heart of this beast, the amazing Aston 6.0L V12.
Panel gaps are good, the interior is pretty well appointed, decals are all to scale and accounted for. I like it so much I don’t even care that the passenger side wing mirror is missing (I didn’t see this when I bought it, only discovered it when taking photos just now). I’ll just pretend it’s a mid-70s car like the 930 with its single wing mirror.
So thanks for the heads up, TFritch! My desk thanks you.
