This car is not yet at 100% of where I want it to be yet, but it is Shark Week and I wanted to show something off. In addition, Thursday kind of sounds like Tuesday, so I can still apply the Teutonic tag!
And it is also special because I can finally reveal my new VDH Customs logo that Jobjoris’ brother was gracious enough to design for me! I will try to feature it on more cars in the future for sure.
I’m sure there will be custom color versions of the logo depending on the project, of course!
I tried to go for the BMW Art Car look a bit, mostly inspired by the Frank Stella 3.0 CSL with all it’s geometric pattern beauty.
The other influence is, of course, the Porsche Intelligent Performance livery on the 919 Hybrids. This might just be an excuse to look at pretty Porsche pictures though, but I don’t care! :D
This car was my first attempt at larger decals, and my, are they a pain in the butt. Lining them up and then making them go into all the little crevices was definitely a challenge. And my printer SUCKS.
I do think it turned out reasonably well though! The finish isn’t perfect, but hopefully a coat of clear will take care of that.
I hope you guys enjoy it! And yes, I do realize the irony of Porsche script on a BMW. LOL
