It’s Breadbox Week! And I believe this is a nice example of breadboxy design, the Michellotti masterpiece BMW 700 Luxus.

This is not the first time I’ve shown this model, so I’ll refer you to the link above for more info, but Breadbox Week was a good opportunity to take some better shots of it. Plus, when I first got it, Lego Chris Bangle hadn’t moved into my display cabinet yet. But since then, he has had plenty of time to experience the luxury that is this little rear engined piece of excellence. So let’s take a look from his perspective, shall we?

First off, it’s about 1.5 Lego Chris Bangle’s high, and 5 or so Lego Chris Bangles long. This 40hp beast of a 2-door sedan has the flat-twin engine in the rear, but as you can see, there is plenty of room if you wanted to swap in something stronger.

Likewise, the frunk has a decent amount of storage, even with the spare already taking up some space. Lego Chris Bangle always travels light, though, so no issues here!

Now that we’ve taken a good look at the exterior features of the car, let’s move inside.

Plenty of space inside for Lego Chris Bangle. The gear shifter is a little far away for his taste, but he can make it work. In the back there is a TON of leg room. In fact, his feet don’t even reach the end of the seat, so no complaints here!

Overall, Lego Chris Bangle seems to really like this car. It’s no E65 7-series, but he does recognize that this car in part made that one possible, so nothing but respect from this toy car designer (toy car-designer?).

PS. The tailpipe fits a Lego hand exactly. Do what you want with that info, I just wanted to point it out.

PPS. Full credit for Lego Chris Bangle goes to good friend whycodywhy. He was kind enough to build me one as well, so I’m just trying to live up to his legacy and put him to good use!
