I threw some new tips on the Audi RS6 last night, and I thought I’d pass those tips on to you guys, too.

The key to the whole thing is the humble crimp tube. Usually used for jewelry making, these neat little chromed metal tubes are perfect for 1:64 exhausts. They come in 4 sizes ranging from “3-cylinder two stroke” to “V8 DIESEL, BABY!!!”

I originally bought it for the smallest size, as they are just right for capping off axles. But it was a pain in the butt and I found a much easier way to do that, but the crimp tubes are still great for exhaust tips!

I started drilling out the exhausts with a small 1/16" drill bit (hand operated, since the plastic is so soft), then widened it to the size of the #2 crimp tube with a pin vise.
