I liked the results of my dye experiments yesterday so I picked up a few more colors today. It’s a very simple process so let me know if you have any questions. Now for more pictures.

This is my favorite of the bunch. It looks like this Porsche belongs in the Cool Classics line dye to the Spectrafrost look of the paint.

I used Peacock Green Rit on this cast. I was pleasantly surprise when I pulled it out of the dye and saw this nice blue shade.

The SLR got a bath in Sapphire Blue Rit. I wanted to go darker on this cast so it may get another bath to get a deeper shade of blue.

The Z got dipped into all 3 of the colors I was working with. I really like the plum color that resulted. The color is great but the white base throws off the look. I need to find and extra white base and see if it will hold any color.

My take on a BMW art car. I didn’t plan this one very well and just winged it. For my next attempt I will have to build some wire hangers to dip the car into the desired color and not have so much overlap in colors. I also plan to try some masking tape and try and keep more white on the car for the M look.

The Zamac Viper turned out very nice in Racing Red Rit. It’s hard to capture but it has a spectraflame look to it.

This skyline was also done in Racing Red. It sat in the dye for 3 times as long as the Viper and has a much deeper color to it. With a little detaling this one will look outstanding.

On an interesting note the dye does not work on bare Zamac. I tried to dye a striped and polished body but after 20 minutes in the bath no color held.
