Teutonic Tuesday: Porsche 996 GT3

This was a fairly spontaneous purchase that I somewhat regret, I caught it when I was looking for my UT Models 993 GT2 as a related auction, it was ending under $10 with a few minutes to go. So, I was like sure why not, round out my 911 generation gap. New in box, no issues noted.

This GT3 is a Hotwheels 1/18 believe it or not and it’s a fairly sub average die cast. Just being truthful. The quality and feel is actual worse then most bad Maistos that I’ve came across. This came new in the box with no packing damage so all casting flaws were from the factory, the most obvious being the creases in the front bumper in each corner and a curious dent in the roof. The door fitment is poor on both sides, the frunk is cast in, and the engine compartment is a sea of black plastic shapes. The one interesting feature is the calipers are static and the rotors pass through them when the wheels turn like the real thing. The interior is actually the redeeming feature with surprisingly good details.

Overall a 5/10, the pictures make it look pretty decent though :) Enjoy!
