I finally had the time to take pictures of a Tomica Limited I dug up from storage. This is the first ever TL I received (in the mid-'00s) and it was easy to get hooked from all the incredible details they've placed on this small casting. I like it so much, it's in my username!
This ain't no AE86, boy. No AE86! This is in fact the direct predecessor to the AE86 that we all know and love. But that doesn't make it any less cool, Tomica Limited gave it a complete treatment from bumper to bumper. From the number on the box, this is the 93rd release from Tomica Limited. There's a webpage listing no. 0073 to 0120, I'd warn you though, looking at the list will cause a dangerous spike of WANT in your system.
I really dig the period-correct RS Watanabe wheels it comes with, I suppose the rubber tires are gunked up from all the mad table-top doridori sessions. Looking at prices for this on eBay now is an eye-watering experience. Don't worry, I shall spam pictures in this post; hope that helps.
I'm not sure what this paint color is called. Nonetheless, the side body decals is nicely tied together with the "DOHC EFI" letter right after each door. Can I haz efficiency?
Driver enters the other door. No apologies.
It definitely stands up to scrutiny, just look at the badges/decals on the rear hatch lid. Even the light clusters in the rear are impeccably detailed.
Yes, you take the controls from this side. Don't complain.
If there's one thing I'd change on this model would be the wheel fitment, the wheels will be more flushed against the wheel arches. Even without that, I still love this to bits.
(Shout out to EL_ULY. I herd you liek toy yodas.)
