Special Combo for today! A Dodge Coronet Custom police patrol car from Tomica, a rare combination since the Tomica we know today isn't known for making American full-size sedans, let alone a foreign cop car.
I'm going to cherish my time writing this post, this is the only vintage MoPar I have from Tomica.
The year stamped on the bottom is 1976. It looks really mint for its age, and is one of the most senior member in my collection. The chrome on the wheels are in way better shape than some of my childhood toy cars.
It came to me loose without its signature box which probably explains why I didn't need to pay an arm and a leg.
Overspray can easily be seen on where the black paint meets with the white paint but I'm not going to let that get in the way of enjoying this model.
Having the raised "DODGE" letters on the license plate area front and rear is a nice touch.
It's pretty odd to have a red interior in a cop car, perhaps it is to better disguise the blood stains. (lol)
I am confused, is this suppose to be the Dodge Monaco unlike the name stamped at the bottom? This is a Dodge Monaco, right?
Metal on metal, just like most Hot Wheels and Matchbox at that time. It is scaled down to 1:74 in order to fit inside the regular Tomica boxes. It's been a blast taking pictures of it and a privilege to have it in my collection.
