Or better known as the Kenmeri Skyline from its highly successful commercials in Japan. I was very happy to for what I paid for this near-mint C110 Skyline from Tomica; it has got tiny flea bites in the edges and visible wear and tear on the chromed parts. It was suppose to have a tow hook but that broke off before purchase.
Despite its flaws, it still looks very nice and those little imperfections gives it some character in the pictures. I believe this was released in the '70s, the condition is pretty mint for its age! Not to be confused with its GT-R counterpart, this green example you see here is the stock 2000 GT-X which Tomica only release two versions of.
I've forgotten how much I've paid for this vintage Tomica, but I can remember the costs weren't high. It probably didn't demand a high price due to the lack of its original box. That's a detail I could overlook when getting access to such a wonderful car.
As the Hot Wheels Kenmeri Skyline is showing up and flying off the pegs, let's look at what Tomica made about 40 years ago. Furthermore scalpers in my area are snatching away my chance of getting the HW version, I shall take this opportunity to admire an actual "Made in Japan" model. Can you say JDM?
Instead of relying on a decals, the "Skyline" logo is actually molded on the rear quarter panel. This goes without mention the signature design cue on the rear fender.
Why not step in for a ride and enjoy the rest of the pictures?
