For my silver choice for LaLD Car Week, I have this silver 1:43 Nissan R34 GT-R V-Spec from one my favourite scale model brands - HPI. Hailing from the MIRAGE line, this scaled-down Godzilla is a sealed resin model.
The 1:43 of the same car from AUTOart is in my collection, and I when laid my eyes on this HPI iteration I could immediately spot the superiority it has over the Aa ones. On one hand, I was impressed with the fit and finish from HPI. On the other hand, I knew 1:43 AUTOart models no longer tickle my fancy. While I decide how to feel about this, let’s take a closer look at this magnificent piece. Aside from the lowered ride height, it is otherwise stock. Behind these OEM wheels reveals huge brake disc rotors and bright gold calipers – all hints at what this potent machine is capable of.
