This 1:43 NISMO Z-Tune hails from the stables of Ignition Model - donned in Millenium Jade paint, it demonstrates a possible past had Nismo Omori Factory decided on another factory paint option. Complete in Z-Tune garb, down to the black LM GT4 “GT500 Model” wheels, this ultimate rendition of the Skyline GT-R is ready to pounce on a long stretch of highway or the race track.
I wasn’t able to acquire any Skyline of my liking with this paint job previously, especially when the ones from HPI have appreciated beyond my reach or disappeared from the market. So when Ignition Model announced they will be dusting off the mould and pop more of it out to the market, I did not hesitate to place my order.
Of all the resin scale model makers, Ignition Model has been the only brand that fills in the panel gaps with black paint - adding another level realism to their models. These filled-in panel gaps are executed in a way that sits between strong comical lines and being too subtle, perfectly balanced so as to not overpower the delicate paintwork. As such, I’m willing to pay the premium that IG Models demand.
All this talk about panel lining might seem like drivel to some, but to me, it’s all the little details that add up. It’s the minutiae in these scale models that compels me to collect and admire them.
