Okay, I’m a day late (and, if truth be told, a couple dollars short) for Micro Monday but I think this still counts... I spent the weekend out toward the coast visiting my folks, only to discover that it was “Land Of The J Cases” and there was little to tempt me in any local stores...
But on a whim I dropped a couple of coins into a Hot Wheels capsule machine (what the Japanese call a “gatchapon”) to see what I’d get...
Out popped these two little guys; Tooned-style plastic versions of the Baja Truck (here renamed the Jump Truck) and the Loop Coupe.
The tampos are pretty rough, but these little suckers can certainly move. They’ve got pull-back-and-go motors, and the bigger front tires give them a wicked shimmy! The Italian company that makes these things calls them Drifting Turbo Cars.
Size comparison with a ‘69 COPO Corvette...
Die cast Loop Coupe versus tiny cousin...
Baja Truck versus Jump Truck...
Just wondering... Does this make it a TH?
