(Disclaimer: same story as Tuesday, couldn’t post this the other day. My FfAF post will be up later today)

For this Thursday’s entries, we have 3 cars of the same brand, yet they’re all distinctly different. Today is a Jaguar day.

We start with this 1/18th Maisto-brand 2000 Jaguar S-Type.

I acquired this second-hand from a toy store. Except for some missing paint on the wing mirrors and a missing shifter knob, it’s in excellent shape.

For a period of a year or so, this was my dream car. Pure, retro-modern British luxury. And, given that production was overseen by an American company (Ford), it didn’t come with all the technical problems British cars are notorious for.

As for the S-Type itself, it was produced from 2000-2008 on Ford’s DEW platform, along with the Lincoln LS, 2002-2005 Ford Thunderbird, and the still-in-production Jaguar XF. It had a slight facelift in 2004.

This is technically not a 1/43rd but it’s close enough, scale-wise. It’s a Kinsmart brand Jaguar XK.

I bought this at the Saratoga Automobile Museum in Saratoga, NY, along with another Kinsmart, a Bentley Continental Super Sport.

The detail is eh, but unlike the other two here, it’s right-hand drive, like British cars are supposed to be :)

As for the XK itself, it was a grand tourer coupe produced by Jaguar from 1996-2014, the first generation lasting from 1996-2006 and the second from 2006 to 2014. It was sold as a direct successor to the classic XJS, and was succeeded by the modern F-Type.

Beautiful. And now, our 1/64th competitor.

What better way to finish this Thames Thursday than with another Jag, this one in the classic British Racing Green?

This HW Jaguar F-Type Project 7 is from the first run of them, and it’s one of my favorite castings. I didn’t get the red one, though. Bright red isn’t a good color on it.

The F-Type Project 7 is a limited-run F-Type designed to commemorate Jaguar’s 7 LeMans victories. It has multiple performance upgrades and was the first Jaguar vehicle to be tuned by Special Vehicle Operations, the JLR equivalent of Mercedes-AMG.
