This Racing Champions ‘70 Buick GSX Sheriff’s car is one of the first premium diecasts I bought when I got into proper collecting in high school (about 20 years ago ... ooof, I feel old). It’s still one of my favorites, too. I have a real soft spot for Buicks, as evidenced by the fact that my current and previous fun 1:1 cars are/were Buicks. There’s just something about a fast Buick that’s simultaneously wrong, and oh so perfectly right.
Racing Champions of this era don’t necessarily hold up to the standards of modern premium diecasts, but I think this one is an exception. It’s nicely detailed and proportioned, and it’s pretty well built too.
