This is the Ricko 1/18 scale Vector W8 Twin Turbo super car. One if the most insane automobiles of the late 80's/early 90's and perhaps of all time. A modified Chevy 350, a couple turbos, and a 3-speed automatic pushed this baby to over 200mph. Yes, I did say 3-speed automatic.
Both scissor doors open skywards and stay propped for display. Once you climb over the huge door sills, you’ll be greeted by carpeting, lots and lots of buttons, and a infographic representation of the entire car on the dashboard.
There is a toggle switch under the nose of the car to operate the pop-down headlamps. The Vector’s beady eyes peep out behind those massive panels once they drop. One feature that is missing is the opening compartment under the four large vents on the hood.
Under the lourved rear hatch, you’ll find the jam packed engine bay. A few contrasting colors make different components pop, otherwise it’s a moderately detailed engine.
The decals are correct and there thankfully aren’t any visible mounting posts on the taillights. However, we do see them on the reverse lights. The right side exhaust outlet on my model is a little crooked. Both are painted silver, which isn’t what I saw on a 1:1 in Monterey a few summers ago. That car had more of a dark grey exhaust.
So many louvres! Backing up a Countach must seem easy compared to this thing.
I can’t stop starring at this thing! It’s low, wide, and mean just like the real thing. I’ve only had it for a few weeks but it’s quickly become one of my favorites. These are tough to find. It took me well over a year of eBay watching before I scored this one. Ricko released them in red and black, but in my humble opinion red is the only way to go.
