Hi folks, I apologize if someone has already posted details of this model before, but I don’t spend nearly as much time as I would like on LaLD. I would also like to apologize for the fact that my pictures are terrible, but I was in a bit of a rush and I hope you won’t hold it against me.
This model is the result of another ill-advised lunchtime eBay perusal and let me assure you that it’s quite something. The paperwork that comes with it states that the model is made up of a scarcely believable 1841 individual pieces and I can assure you that the level of detail beggars belief. But that’s enough of my pontificating. Picture time!
Real leather is used for the presentation box. I enquired if it was Corinthian, I am yet to receive a reply.
See those three vents? The box comes equipped with a tiny little screwdriver so that you can remove them. I am yet to muster the courage to do so. There’s also a little flap above it (still taped up in this picture) we’ll get to that in a moment.

I did eventually muster the courage to take it out of the box.
The fuel cap also opens.
Obviously the boot (sorry, trunk!) also opens.

Oil filler cap, because you know, you can’t have enough tiny opening panels!
You will notice that under hood shots are conspicuously absent. There’s a very good reason for this, the hood is secured by tiny metal catches and two real leather straps with tiny little buckles. My hands are not those of a vascular surgeon or concert pianist and my terror in damaging what is a significantly expensive model got the better of me. One day I’ll open it, maybe.
The detail on this model is truly insane. The windscreen wipers are made of metal with real rubber blades, the Borrani wire wheels can be removed with differeng left or right-handed thread for each side, like the real car, every detail has been painstakingly rendered. The CMC 250 SWB I took a few pictures of a couple of months ago is similarly detailed, but this is a new level of fit and finish.
A genuinely lovely thing which unfortunately will probably remain confined to its box because I don’t want any other models touching it!
