Double D

Hi everyone.

It’s been a while since my last post, so how about a couple of Dodges for a starter. Or rather, re-starter.

Not too often that both Mattel brands did the same car with equally nice results. Take this car for example. The Dodge A100, one as a van, the other one’s a pickup. I didn’t plan to customize them as a pair, but it works pretty well.

The first one is the Hot wheels van. This one I got from a friend, without any wheels. It was a wheel donor. Nothing too extreme with this one, only Hand-painted graphics and a roof rack. I added Matchbox spinner wheels, instead of realriders because I prefer it that way. They give it a more classic look to the car.

The second one is Matchbox’s version of the A100. This build is heavily inspired by Liam aka Tippityplop’s build from a million years ago. (WHERE ARE YOU, UNCLE LIAM?!!!). Originally it was a pickup truck, until I cut the bed section and replaced it with a sliding bed. Oh, and it’s working, by the way. I made my own mechanism using clips. To finish it off, it stands on a custom chassis with working suspension.
