Here’s the THEN design. The Dinky BMW 1500 made around the 60's is in a played with condition yet still stands with its original tires. Goes to show how durable the toys of yesteryears were made. It has working steering but no openings. Metal chassis too. Only plastic is probably the interior. Made in France.

History: 1961 is the year when BMW launches the actual BMW 1500, developed by Hofmeister, Fiedler, Wolff and von Falkenhausen. It is the first BMW “sporty sedan” marking a turning point in the Bavarian company. The excellent suspension and striking design for its time, employing a low waistline with a low-slung engine compartment and rear lid characterized the 1500. It is the first modern BMW with a four-cylinder engine developing 80bhp.

Wilhelm Hofmeister introduces the forward curve at the base of the C column: this feature today bears his name. Along with the front air grille, it is one of the unmistakable characteristics that define BMW automobiles.

History: BMW is offering the new 4 Series Gran Coupe, a four-door, hatchback version of the 4 Series coupe based on a 3 Series sedan. Introduce probably around 2015, it comes with either a 3.0L turbocharged six-cylinder engine which makes 300 HP, 300 lb-ft of torque or 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which makes 240-hp and 255 lb-ft of torque.

Conclusion: When I purchased this model I always wondered who made it as the box only has the BMW brand and some chinese characters on the side. When I unscrewed it from the display stand recently I started looking at the car carefully and finally found the manufacturer and some of you may already know by just looking at it.
