Teutonic Tuesday: Schuco Express Service

Here is another treasure that was dug up from the closet. However it is not a die cast but a West German brand tin toy gas station. Schuco is a German toy maker founded in 1912 by Heinrich Müller and businessman Heinrich Schreyer in Nuremberg, Germany’s toy capital since the early days.

What’s missing are the flaps and the windup toy car that came with it. I decided to do a little restoration by creating the flaps myself.

Also went to ebay to scout for the car that came with it. Found one at a decent price. This car was design to move and not fall off from the table or on the top of the service station building as can be seen on the instruction below.
