Hot Sixty 4th: Tomica TLV - Alfa Romeo GT1300

In this series I will showcase DLM cars ranging within the 1/64 and smaller. My 12th one is a Tomica TLV Alfa Romeo GT1300.

What the.. wait, did I just mentioned a non-Japanese TLV car?

I did. I did mentioned a non-Japanese TLV car. Mama Mia, an Italian car to be precise. Can I call this Spaghetti Saturday then?

How I discovered about this model was by accident as I had not been following up on new TLV releases for a while. It just so happened I came across an article from the Lamley Group early this year that talks about a new release by Tomica TLV on the Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV in red and my first thought was, ok Matchbox already release something similar to it years ago and I bought a red one as well and a lot cheaper too.

But as you can see I did get one but not the red 1750 GTV but a blue GT 1300 which Tomica released last year.

According to wikipedia, the Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior was the entry model to the Alfa Romeo coupé range. It was introduced in 1965 as the replacement for the 101 series Giulia Sprint 1300, which was the final development of the Giulietta Sprint series.

The Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce (also known as 1750 GTV) appeared in 1967 which replaced the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce and introduced many updates and modifications.

I am not an expert in the Alfa Romeo models so to me both models look almost similar. I found out that a blue color GT1300 was release last December so this is how it ended up with me so it can compliment the red Matchbox. This one also came from Amiami.
