From Germany on to the Czech Republic or what used to be called Czechoslovakia. Here is the 2003 UAZ 469 made again by IXO under their IST model brand.

UAZ which is translated as Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is based in Ulyanovsk, Russia which manufactures off-road vehicles, buses and trucks. It is best known for the UAZ-469 utility vehicle, which has seen wide use as a military vehicle in the Eastern bloc and around the world. The UAZ factory started production in 1941 as part of the Soviet war effort during World War II.

Developed from the GAZ-69 and UAZ-460, the UAZ-469 was introduced in 1971 to replace the GAZ-69.

The model shown here indicated on the acrylic base as a 2003 UAZ Czechoslovakia AirField Army but this is where I am not sure if the year or name of the country indicated is incorrect or not as Czechoslovakia cease to exist after the country peacefully dissolved on 1 January 1993 into two independent countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia after the fall of communism so technically the model year 2003 is either incorrect or it should have indicated Czech Republic.

It was good that IXO had created this market for people outside the influence of the Soviet Union who may be curious or likes to collect models of the Soviet era.

This is another nice replica of an actual model and I commend IXO for this as a lot of the parts like headlights are separate and not painted on. However the door handles are the exemption as these are painted on. If you want your model to also have opening parts like Corgi then this is not for you.

I gave it 4.5 out of 5 in detail, 5 out of 5 in quality control and 3.0 out of 5 for playable. Of course as with this kind of detail, caution in handling is required.
