Hot Sixty 4th: The Little vehicle that could

In this series I will showcase DLM cars ranging within the 1/64 and smaller. For my 26th model we have a tiny 3 wheeled vehicle under the TLV series with the Mitsubishi Pet Leo Van by Tomica.

Just like the blog about the Jeep look a like, we have another unusual looking Mitsubishi mode of transportation.

I tried to look for info about this little fella and found some from Sixty four ever diecast website. It indicated that the first models that were manufactured by Mitsubishi left the factory in 1946,with the Mizushima XTM1, a stripped version announcing the future Leo.

The Leo appeared in 1959 until 1962.

This utility vehicle had a 309 cc engine developing 12.5 hp,and could carry 660 lb / 300 kg payload.

As you can see at the picture above the front looks almost like a scooter with a small body built into it. This is pretty handy in Japan and other countries that have narrow roads as it can make delivery in tight spaces and can easily park in small areas.
