So what is this high performance car behind the shadow?
So we have another Honda Civic with high performance engine. This one was released earlier than the type R that I featured below.
This however has a different badge. This is the 6th generation 2000 Honda Civic Si coupe.
The Honda Civic Si was not sold in the US during model years 1996-1998. It started production again for the 1999 and 2000 model years. All Honda Civic Si models from 1999 and 2000 were manufactured with a Denso type A/C compressor.
So are there any difference between the type R and Si? I am not an expert on this but dug up some info besides the fact that the Type R was not released in the US during that time and possibly the present, the Type R comes with the k20a 2 engine (200hp) and six speed trans while the Si comes with the k20a 3 engine (160 hp) and a five speed trans.
The model shown is a customized version with low profile tires, flames and the Honda logo and the word Civic located on the sides, front and back. Made by ...... surprise..... Motor Max, this 1/24 model has opening features on the hood, trunk and doors. It also has a working steering. For a low end model this thing has all the features you ever wanted in a model.
