Unlike GT-RGuy and WD333, I didn’t managed to find the Matchbox Mercedes nor the chevy wagon at my Walmart. However I managed to get a JL VW Van Surf Rod and a few days ago I was able to get the HW Track day VW Karman at Target. Of course the Datsun is no where to be found but surprised that the Karman was still there.
So the JL packaging looks like one of their leftovers from the Playing Mantis days.
But if you look closely at the packaging, it is not the old JL but is actually a recent one. After seeing the resurrected JL using clamshell packaging again, this is a bit of a surprise for them to have gone back to their original packaging.

Of course I was surprised that this thing is still hanging on the pegs.
