If picture is worth a thousand word this would be an easy conclusion yet this may not be what it seems so read on.
So just like most of us here, we drop by at our store to do some errands and I went to get a detergent and an orange juice and of course drop by the die cast aisles to browse around. As usual the Matchbox still has old stocks in Target without the Chevy wagon or the hudson police car so switch to the Hot wheels to look at what they have on car culture. As expected most of the Track Day cars are there except for Datsun and Karmann Ghia which I’m glad I already have.
So the picture above is not from Target so read on. Next stop is the mainline Hot Wheels. This Target somehow have 2 mini dump bins (or trays to put the cars) below the pegs which I guess serve a double purpose. To catch all those cars that came tumbling down from the pegs. Here’s a bit of a back story. A few days ago when ever I drop by in this Target there is always someone looking at the mainline Hot Wheels area. If I remember correctly it’s probably the same person. It’s either his buying cars for his stocking stuffers or he is also looking for specific models so I ended up just browsing at the high end Hot wheels or go to the Matchbox aisle.
Today the coast is clear so I went to check the pegs first to look for any new Hot wheels that I may like and never expected to find 2 of the Datsun Fairlady. Also decided to get the BMW since it doesn’t have the ugly wheels. As a bonus I even found the new VW Kafer on the dump bin even though I wasn’t really looking for it but became aware of it via Lamley Group. Well the BMW has nice detail on the front and back but not on the Fairlady so may end up using one of them to add some detail. So it may not be the 510 but Fairlady came to the rescue.
(Added info) I just notice that the clear plastic on one of the Fairlady (picture above if you can see it) was partly opened at the bottom. I compared it with the other one and does not seem to have been tampered. I wonder if there was an attempt to steal the content or got opened by accident. Oh well it’s now DLM.
