On my previous blog I wrote about a Rover with the AA logo use by this organization as one if not the only ‘Road Service’ vehicle of choice was most likely due to its 4 wheel drive in order to reach stranded vehicles located in very rough terrain.
But what happens if a ‘Road Service’ Rover eventually breaks down?
Enter the Land Rover 107 Series I Recovery Truck 1965 by True-Scale-Miniatures. By the way this is my first TSM model.
The Land Rover was launch in 1948. Later known as Series I, it has an 80 in. wheelbase. In 1954 the 107 Series I - similar to this - was introduced where 107 denotes the length of the wheelbase.
In 1958 the Series II was introduced. Wait... what? If the series II came out in 1958 how could this still be a series I if this is a 1965 model? My take on this is it could be a typo on the year but if any of you ‘ol chaps out there are classic Land Rover experts you are welcome to shed some light.
Compare to the Dinky model I think the front part of this model is more realistic and refine.
Looks like it received an emergency call and was dispatch to rescue a Rover in need.
Vive la Rover err... I mean hurray for Rover.
