Hot Sixty 4th: Nothing Fancy Wagon Wednesday

You’ve read it right. On my 44th post I’m not featuring a Nissan Skyline nor even a Bluebird. Just a no thrill, nothing fancy, ordinary wagon.

But this model is not cheap at all. This is just one in a set of 2 Coca Cola vehicles released by Tomica thru their TLV series. What’s the other one? Find out in my future blog.

Tomica indicated it as a LV 18/19/21 Toyota Crown Wagon. Although Crown is considered Toyota’s high end model at that time, this was probably the low end Crown when Coca Cola of Japan bought it as it did not even come with hubcaps. This is based on the third generation S50 model made between 1967 - 1971.

If this model was available here as a 1:1 it will probably be considered in the die cast world as a peg warmer. Or will it?

For members of the Japanese Nostalgic Car which are dedicated to old school JDM cars 25 years or older, this might be a gold mine for them. I even featured their icon in my Hot Sixty 4th Legend of Speed.

Even for an ordinary wagon, Tomica did a good job in bringing out the details in a small scale model.
