Hot Sixty 4th: Face to Face Friday

M2 recently released it. Jada also released theirs. Greenlight is about to release it as well. But before they did, a German die cast company already released one before. On my 45th post here’s a face to face with the double cab type 2s from 2 different companies.

On your left is the US very own M2 Machines VW double cab that was recently released around December of last year. On the right is a Siku brand made by a German company Sieper Lüdenscheid GmbH & Co. KG in Lüdenscheid, Germany.

I mentioned this before on my 33rd post about me owning my very first VW double cab released by Siku.

I was excited when M2 decided to released the T1 version as it does compliment my T2 Siku. M2 molded the double cab, the pickup bed/rear body and the 3 hinged “gates” separately. It also comes with separate front lights and removable rubber tires. Nice detail overall.

For play value, it is 3.5 out of 5 as there are no openings and is more fragile due to multiple delicate parts.

The Siku version has less individual parts. The double cab, rear body and the hinge “gates” are molded together and is made of metal. The front headlights seems to be part of the chassis which is made of metal as well. Not a lot of individual colors but still nice detail overall.

The model shown is from their Super series which began around 1975 and sources indicated their scale is around 1/55.

For play value I rank it at 4.25 as it does not have any opening parts but is solid enough to withstand rough play.

I bought this loose and always wondered what the package look like. I finally found a picture of it.
