Hot Sixty 4th: Keep on Truckin' Thursday with a Black with Flames

Welcome again to another DLM cars from 1/64 and smaller and sometimes larger. On my 60th post here is a series that seems to have vanished from Greenlight. Called Up in Flames, there were only 2 series, and this 1971 Chevrolet C-10 is one of the last model.

This was based on Tim Phelps design who is an award winning medical illustrator at John Hopkins who has painted over 600 die cast cars.

I love the white walls and traditional hubcaps on this vintage truck. Using gloss black with yellowish and red flame I would say this truck really glows.

I’m not sure if the hood on this will open as I have not seen one in any of the available pictures on the internet and tried to lift it with no success but Kimba did brought to my attention the Ramcharger that I featured yesterday does open but will need a little help from a hobby knife.

Released around 2008 when Greenlight was just around 4 years old , they were probably still figuring out which theme will work with the public.

For me I’m glad I was able to acquire this truck.
